I should at least mention about this: A friend of ours was lost at sea during a fishing trip a couple of weeks ago. Till now he has not been found. The search is still ongoing…but do you know how that feels? To desparately want to know and not know? To wonder, forever wonder if he is okay or otherwise? It’s been more than 10 days now… I’d like to write more but this is one of those days when only the fingers type away while the brain instructs incoherently.
Home Sweet Home May 22, 2003
I’m so back in motherland Sabah. Back to its warm and humid arms. I haven’t been feeling ‘useful’ for the past one week. Although my audition went well and received the acceptance letter yesterday, I’m gonna continue being bored for at least another two more weeks before the real thing begins. I’m determined to get my driving license before the year ends. Even if I have to change tyres–implimented as part of the exam. Boy, I can already picture me squatting on the side of the road with a jack, swearing fervently while struggling with the damn tyre the size of me…
Detachment May 12, 2003
Detachment process ongoing. Completed 95% of packing. I’m mentally preparing to face the airport in a couple of hours from now. I love and hate airports. Love it cause it’s a gateway to some place better–or so it seems for a while. Hate it cause it’s probably a gateway to some place worse then what you’ve just left behind. If neither, at least I always feel lost in an airport. Especially surrounded with people from all over the damn world lugging about with their gigantic luggages. I know it’s just a transit to a definite destination but to me it’s proof how nomadic we are at the core… Or is that a deluded impression of mine? Hmmm, maybe I’m just gloomy. This temporary sense of belongingness is now cutting off and soon to be replaced with another.
No Rest May 6, 2003
No rest for the wicked… Aiseee, as if I’m not enjoying my late rising in the mornings :) But seriously, a couple more items to kill at work, one more day of shopping, one SS program to ‘handle’, one sight-seeing appointment and then I’m off riding a kuda (horse) into the sunset… Will write more soon.
